Who Can Vote

The Universal adult suffrage principle is applied on the India’s democratic system under which the adult of age 18 can be eligible for voting in election. Irrespective of any religion, gender, creed, or caste, everyone has right to vote. Those people who are considered to be unstable of mind and having criminal background have no right to vote.

For voting in the elections in India, every year number of candidates is increasing in number. About 61.16% of voters voted in the year 1952 and about 57.94% of turn out will be noticed in the general elections. A number of scheduled tribes, scheduled castes members along with the women who are not supposed to vote in the elections are also included in the voting members that were very close to the average rate of voting on the national count basis.
